Jason Pierre-Paul ‘severely injured’ hand in fireworks accident
New York Giants defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly suffered a serious hand injury in a fireworks accident on Saturday night.
According to Andy Slater of WINZ 940-AM in Miami, Pierre-Paul sustained a “severe injury” to his hand.
While there has not been an official announcement made, speculation is building on Twitter that Pierre-Paul mangled his hand pretty badly. One Twitter user claimed to have a friend who works at the hospital where JPP was being treated, and that person claimed Pierre-Paul has “partially missing fingers.”

Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole also confirmed the injury.
We have seen athletes injure their hands doing weird stuff like this over the years, but the situation with Pierre-Paul sounds fairly serious. It’s also worth noting that he has yet to sign the franchise tender the Giants offers him, which is worth $14.8 million for the 2015 season.
We’ll have more details as they become available.
UPDATE: The injuries Pierre-Paul suffered are not expected to be career-threatening.
This might be the van where it all started.
