The NBA All-Star Game is not anywhere near what it used to be. This year, that is once again the case.

Unfortunately, some of the game’s biggest stars are sidelined due to injury. Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giannis Antetokounmpo are not participating in the All-Star Game due to various injuries.

On Thursday, the NBA named Antetokounmpo’s replacement, and it will be San Antonio Spurs star De’Aaron Fox.

Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox has been named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game (Sunday, Feb. 15 at 5 PM ET on NBC & Peacock).

Antetokounmpo was set to be part of Team World, but Norman Powell will move to Team World as Fox joins USA Stripes.

Antetokounmpo’s absence was expected after he was diagnosed with a calf strain at the end of January. However, Antetokounmpo will still be around at All-Star weekend as he is coaching in the Celebrity Game.

The Spurs acquired Fox at last year’s NBA trade deadline in a deal with the Sacramento Kings. This season, Fox is averaging 19.4 points with 6.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds as the Spurs enter the break in second place in the Western Conference with only the defending NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, ahead of them.

This year’s NBA All-Star Game will be on Sunday, Feb. 15, at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.
