Kevin Durant has shared which team he believes will win the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament, and the pick should not come as much of a surprise.
The Phoenix Suns were eliminated from the In-Season Tournament on Tuesday night with a 106-103 quarterfinals loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. After the game, Durant was asked to predict which team will go on to win the $500,000-per-player prize. K.D. thinks the Lakers will be hard to beat.
“I’m gonna go with the Lakers since they beat us,” Durant said. “They got the size to compete with anybody. They got the quickest flight out of anybody (to Las Vegas), the most fans out of anybody. It’s set up for them to win. I can’t wait to watch. The intensity of these games has been incredible. I wasn’t a fan as they were forming this (tournament), but now I’m a huge fan.”

Of course, many people feel the Suns should be the ones still alive in the tournament after the controversial way their game against the Lakers ended. Durant did not get into any of that and said the Suns did not lose the game because of one questionable call.
The Lakers will face the New Orleans Pelicans in the semifinals on Thursday night. The winner of that game will play the winner of the East semifinals game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers.
