Report: Lakers expected to hire Tyronn Lue as head coach
The Los Angeles Lakers have not yet made a formal contract offer to anyone for their head coaching position, but it sounds as if they have found their man.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Lakers are expected to hire Tyronn Lue.
The expectation is the Lakers will move toward Ty Lue as head coach, but there's been no offer made to him yet, league sources tell ESPN.

Monty Williams, who was considered one of the top candidates for the Lakers job, agreed to a deal to become the head coach of the Phoenix Suns on Friday. It would stand to reason that coaching in LA would be more appealing to him, so that seemed like a fair indicator that the Lakers had settled on another candidate.
That candidate is apparently Lue. A report last week made it seem as though Lue impressed the Lakers during the interview process, and he has a history with LeBron James. Lue was the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers when they won their NBA title in 2016.
