Buddy Hield says he put on a show because of Kobe Bryant
Buddy Hield put on a show for the fans watching Oklahoma’s 80-68 win over Oregon in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday. The Oklahoma senior guard says he was motivated by having Kobe Bryant in attendance for the game:

Bryant, whose Lakers have a home game Sunday against the Wizards, also attended Oklahoma’s game in the Sweet 16 in Anaheim, Calif. on Thursday. Hield got to take a photo with the former NBA MVP then:
Hield called Kobe his “idol” in that Instagram post. It’s no wonder he really wanted to put on a show.
With a 13-for-20 shooting performance including eight 3-pointers for a total of 37 points, Hield certainly did himself and Kobe proud. And who knows? He might end up replacing Kobe as a guard on the Lakers next season. Hield is already being viewed as a top-five pick.
