Andrew Luck to miss 2 to 6 weeks with lacerated kidney, abdominal tear
Andrew Luck’s injury problems have continued, as the Colts quarterback is set for another spell on the sidelines.
The team announced that Luck suffered a lacerated kidney and an abdominal tear during the fourth quarter of the team’s win over Denver on Sunday. While he won’t require surgery, the injuries are expected to keep him out for 2 to 6 weeks.
“The injuries happened at the end of an early fourth quarter scramble when Andrew was doing everything he could to get us the win,” coach Chuck Pagano said. “Andrew was sore after the game and was feeling a little worse Monday afternoon so we sent him to get tests.”
This is a new injury that Luck suffered on Sunday, and is unrelated to the shoulder injury that kept him out earlier in the season, as well as the rumored rib injuries that have allegedly hampered him since his return.
This is believed to be the hit that Luck was injured on.

The injury means Matt Hasselbeck is back in action. The 40-year-old stepped in for Luck earlier in the season and was 2-0 in his pair of starts. The Colts have struggled all season, and they’ll need Hasselbeck’s success to continue if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
