Bradford signed with the Cardinals before the season for a very hefty sum of money. He promptly lost his job after three weeks, as the Cardinals looked awful with Bradford under center and saw that Rosen, the team’s top pick in the NFL Draft, offered far more upside, even as raw as he is.
Bradford will likely pass through waivers unclaimed, largely because of the money any claiming team would be on the hook for.
Former Cardinals’ QB Sam Bradford now goes on waivers. If a team claimed him, it would inherit his Cardinals’ contract – $2.5 million in base salary, $2.5 million in roster bonuses and a $20 million salary for 2019.

The veteran has a way of landing on his feet, and several teams may look his way. There’s one team with a struggling starter and no clear backup that could think about making the move, for instance, though the market will probably take some time to develop.
