Darius Reynaud takes safety on idiotic first play of season

Darius Reynaud safetyTennessee Titans kick returner Darius Reynaud committed a boneheaded play on the team’s first play of the season. Reynaud fielded the opening kickoff from the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 on Sunday with his left foot just in front of the goal line. Reynaud apparently did not realize he had crossed the goal line, because he stepped back into the end zone and took a knee, thinking he would get a touchback. Of course, the refs noticed he took a step out, meaning the knee he took in the end zone gave the Steelers a safety and prompt 2-0 lead.

Adding insult to injury, Tennessee had to free kick to Pittsburgh, giving the Steelers the ball at the 41. Luckily for Tennessee, Isaac Redman fumbled inside the 10 that drive to change the momentum of the game.
