Perhaps Brady would have shared the same quote even if ESPN didn’t drop a bombshell story about a supposed power struggle within the Patriots organization, but the timing makes you wonder.
ESPN’s Seth Wickersham has said he stands by his reporting, but Bill Belichick shot down one of the most surprising takeaways from the story when the coach addressed his future in New England on Monday. If any team can overcome outside distractions and use them as motivation, it’s the Patriots.
