Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa looked sharp last week in a 30-0 win over the New York Jets. The blowout came despite star wide receiver Tyreek Hill missing the game due to injury.
Tagovailoa remains very aware that he still has plenty of critics that are not convinced by his play. On Wednesday, he took the time to send them a firm message: he takes note of the criticism, and his response is to keep winning games.
"I keep receipts. All the narratives about it. I am only good with Tyreek in. I'm only good when Jaylen is in….I'm only as good as Raheem Mostert allows me to be…..I am the worst football player if that's what you want. Whatever it is, whatever do you need on your show. I'm…

“I keep receipts. All the narratives about it. I am only good with Tyreek in. I’m only good when Jaylen (Waddle) is in….I’m only as good as Raheem Mostert allows me to be,” Tagovailoa said. “I am the worst football player if that’s what you want. Whatever it is, whatever do you need on your show. I’m just here to do my job, and my job is to win NFL games.”
Safe to say Tagovailoa enjoyed being able to win without Hill on Sunday. While he would no doubt love to get his star receiver back, he also feels he has a point to prove about his own contributions to Miami’s success. For what it’s worth, those teammates, Hill especially, readily credit him for his performances.
The Dolphins are 10-4, but finish with games against Dallas, Baltimore, and Buffalo. If Tagovailoa can run the table, he will really have something to shove in the faces of his critics.
