Willis McGahee trends after Nick Chubb knee injury
Willis McGahee became a trending topic on X after Nick Chubb suffered a knee injury on Monday night, and that’s not a good thing.
McGahee was a star running back for Miami in college and got hurt in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State with the national championship on the line. McGahee took a screen pass from Ken Dorsey and was hit by safety Will Allen right in his knee. McGahee completely blew out his knee on the play, suffering tears of the ACL, PCL and MCL.
Unfortunately, football fans who saw Chubb go down against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night were reminded all too well of McGahee’s injury.

The hyperextension of the knees for both players was brutal. Although the injuries look awful, there is some silver lining.
McGahee recovered from his knee injury to play 10 seasons in the NFL and make two Pro Bowls. Chubb also suffered a brutal knee injury in college in 2015 and still returned to have two successful seasons at Georgia. Entering 2023, Chubb had also made four straight Pro Bowls as a star running back for the Cleveland Browns.
The knee injuries are ugly, but fortunately they are not career-ending.
