TV host Adnan Virk has addressed his firing from ESPN that caught many by surprise.
Virk was reportedly fired by ESPN on Friday, Feb. 1, though the details of the matter were not publicly shared until two days later on Super Bowl Sunday. Virk says that much of what was reported about him was “false” and “defamatory.” He also completely denied leaking any confidential or proprietary information.

The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand reported that Virk was fired for repeatedly leaking confidential information. Marchand’s report said the 40-year-old host was escorted off ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. campus on Feb. 1.
A day after Marchand’s initial report, he followed up by saying that Virk was believed to have leaked specific information about “Baseball Tonight” to the sports media website Awful Announcing.
In his statement, Virk denied leaking confidential or proprietary information. He has hired a legal team to try and resolve the matter.
