Mark Helfrich delivered a funny, self-deprecating quote following Oregon’s convincing win over Arizona State on Saturday.
The Ducks got their act together and snapped a five-game losing streak with a 54-35 win over the Sun Devils. Freshman Justin Herbert threw for 489 yards and four touchdowns for his first career victory. It was his third career start, and his promising performance generated some buzz. The Oregon coach isn’t ready to start celebrating yet.

Well said, coach. Oregon is still only 3-5 on the season and 1-4 in conference play. That’s not the type of record Phil Knight donates millions to the university for, so Helfrich knows this is no time to start celebrating.
