Bears teammates forcing Mitchell Trubisky to wear arm sleeve for luck

Mitchell Trubisky

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw six touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week and is no longer allowed to change a thing.

Trubisky is poised to wear an arm sleeve against the Miami Dolphins even though he doesn’t really need it anymore, mostly because his teammates won’t let him take it off after his big game.

“I had a little cut on my arm a few weeks ago, and then it reopened in Arizona [in Week 3] on the first drive and was just gushing everywhere,” Trubisky said, via Jeff Dickerson of ESPN. “And I didn’t want that to happen [against the Bucs], and I covered it up. And then you play pretty well, some superstition, call it what you want. I also got a lot of threats that I have to wear it, so…”

When you see the sort of reactions Trubisky’s game elicited, you can understand why he’d want to keep it going. As long as he performs well, that sleeve won’t be going anywhere.
