Drew Brees feels ‘pretty positive’ about returning next season
Drew Brees does not appear to be ready to call it a career after one of the more difficult losses to swallow in NFL history.
The New Orleans Saints lost to the Los Angeles Rams 26-23 in overtime of the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. The game featured one of the more egregious missed pass interference calls in recent memory. Had the call been made, New Orleans would have been in prime position to run time off the clock and kick a potentially game-winning field goal.
After the heart-breaking loss, Brees said he felt “pretty positive” about returning to play next season.
I asked Drew Brees if he plans on returning to the Saints next season: “I feel pretty positive.”
I asked him, “why?”
“Because I feel like I will.”

Brees, who just turned 40, likely won’t have many more opportunities to reach the Super Bowl. Even though the consensus is New Orleans was robbed, it’s understandable Brees does not want to bow out after that kind of defeat.
