Jim Schwartz has created a lot of buzz this week after he was triumphantly carried off the field by some Buffalo Bills players following their win over the Detroit Lions. Schwartz, Buffalo’s defensive coordinator, was fired by the Lions last year following a 7-9 season.
It was initially reported that Schwartz told his players during training camp that he wanted to be carried off the field “Rudy” style after the Bills beat the Lions in Week 5. Linebacker Randell Johnson, one of the players who lifted Schwartz, even said that Schwartz asked for it and the players wanted to “make a dream come true.”
Apparently there was a misunderstanding.

On the Jim Schwartz controversy, team source said: "He never asked anyone to carry him off the field.

He told the defense if we lost, they would have to carry him off the field because he'd be so devastated."

That seems hard to believe. Players would have known the difference between Schwartz asking for a “Rudy” moment or saying he would be devastated. The more likely scenario is that the Bills are trying to change the narrative after the comments we heard from people like Golden Tate earlier this week.
