Panthers TE hospitalized after scary play where he landed on head
Carolina Panthers tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders was hospitalized on Sunday following a frightening play where he landed on his head.
Sanders caught a pass from Bryce Young late in the first half of the Panthers’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. The rookie was tackled low by a defender and went head over heels. Sanders landed directly on the crown of his helmet and remained on the ground in obvious pain.

Sanders was placed on a backboard and carted off the field. He was able to raise his arms to the crowd, which was a positive sign:

The Panthers announced that Sanders was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Sanders was drafted in the fourth round this year out of Texas. He entered Sunday’s game with 26 catches for 253 yards and a touchdown on the season.
