All of a sudden Rob Gronkowski says he doesn’t drink beer
In case you had any doubts that the summer of Rob Gronkowski is officially over, the Patriots tight end confirmed that for us during a snoozer of an interview with “The Dan Patrick Show” on Monday.
Radio hosts aren’t exactly expecting to talk about football when they bring Gronkowski on the air. They want to hear about all the raging he did during the summer, what porn stars he hung out with and who won the wrestling matches between him and his brothers. Unfortunately for Patrick, Gronk would have none of that on Monday and gave the following response when he was asked what hanging out with him and his brothers would be like.
“If it’s the offseason (we would) probably just kick it,” Gronkowski replied. “Play some backyard sports — definitely some basketball in the backyard. Get a little workout in, a little run in and just chill.”
Trying to deliver for his listeners, Patrick then asked Gronkowski at what point would they all start crushing some beers.
“Not sure,” Gronk said. “I don’t do those things.”
This is the same Rob Gronkowski who talked about shotgunning beers and wanting to get hammered during an interview with Sports Illustrated. It’s also the same Gronk who was photographed ripping a beer bong over the summer, so clearly he is under a gag order. Perhaps Patrick should have asked him if they would rip shots, but I doubt he would have gotten a different answer. The Patriots were serious when they told Gronk to cut the crap, so radio shows might want to wait until the spring before they start lining up for interviews.
