Seahawks reportedly willing to trade another QB

The Seattle Seahawks have already traded one quarterback this offseason, and a new report suggests they are open to moving a second one.

The Seahawks are willing to trade backup Sam Howell and have received inquiries from other teams, according to Brady Henderson and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Howell became expendable after the Seahawks brought back Drew Lock last week.

The willingness to trade Howell comes just one year after the Seahawks gave up third- and fifth-round picks to acquire him, though they also received a fourth- and a sixth-rounder in return. Howell was in relatively high demand at that point after a passable stint as a starter for the Washington Commanders.

However, Howell was not as advertised with Seattle. In his one opportunity to play, he was very poor in relief of the injured Geno Smith, going 5/14 with an interception in a Week 15 loss to Green Bay. The Seahawks clearly soured on him after that if they felt the need to sign Lock.

Howell is still only 24 and has starting experience at the NFL level. There are not many available quarterbacks one can say that about, and that is why he is still drawing interest. Expectations for him are probably pretty low for him going forward, however.
