Report: 3 key Celtics players expected to stay put this offseason
The Boston Celtics are facing a reckoning this offseason, but it looks like they already know which players they intend to keep at all costs.
Neither Jayson Tatum nor Jaylen Brown will be on their way out of Boston this summer, ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel reported on Friday. The Celtics reportedly still view both players as part of the “foundation” of their team.
Additionally, Siegel notes that Boston guard Derrick White is viewed as “an essential core player” alongside Tatum and Brown. As a result, White reportedly isn’t seen as a player whom the Celtics will be forced to dump in a salary-saving move.
Indeed, both Tatum and Brown are a part of the longtime fabric in Boston and would not be easy to trade anyway since the former is in the middle of a five-year, $314 million deal and the latter is in the middle of a five-year, $285 million deal. Tatum will likely miss the vast majority of next season as well due to his Achilles tear, so the Celtics obviously would not be able to recoup anywhere close to fair trade value there.
White, the two-time All-Defensive selection, poses a more interesting question. He is on a more affordable four-year, $118 million contract and would probably be able to command a sizable return as one of the NBA’s premier 3-and-D role players. But as a 30-year-old who is integral to what the team does on both ends of the floor, it makes more sense for the Celtics to keep White around if possible.
That said, Boston needs to do something to save money this summer as they are facing the likelihood of an over $500 million tax bill next season for a roster that just lost in the second round of the playoffs and is also now down their best player in Tatum for the foreseeable future. As a result, Jrue Holiday (who is in the middle of a four-year, $134 million contract), Kristaps Porzingis (two years, $60 million), and Payton Pritchard (four years, $30 million) could be some of the pieces who are more likely to get moved by the Celtics this offseason instead.
Curious video of Julius Randle from Game 2 loss draws attention
Julius Randle had a game to forget on Thursday, and a video of him from the game is sparking attention online.
The Minnesota Timberwolves big man Randle turned in a nightmare evening in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, O.K. He finished with six points on 2/11 shooting (missing all three of his long-range attempts too) as Minnesota got blown out 118-103 to fall behind in the series 2-0.
Making matters worse for Randle was that he was benched by Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch for the entire fourth quarter. Randle subbed out at the end of the third quarter and did not return to the game from there.
User @rexkwondo54, who was apparently in attendance at the contest, shared a video on X of Randle from the middle of that fourth quarter. With just over six minutes left, Randle was gesturing towards the stands, moving his arm in a sideways direction.
The user said that Randle was motioning towards his family in the stands, telling them to leave. However, others who viewed the video thought that Randle was actually motioning for his family to sit down instead. You can see the video for yourself here.
In any case, it looked like Randle’s head was not at all in the game on Thursday. Over the course of his 32 minutes, Randle was a -15 and also committed four costly turnovers.
To his credit, Randle did well in Game 1 against the Thunder with 28 points and eight rebounds on 9/13 shooting. The former All-Star has also enjoyed an excellent postseason overall with nine outings of 20 points or more (out of 12 total games). But Randle, who has been criticized in the past over his attitude, will need to find his groove again if the Timberwolves want to have any chance of coming back to win against the Thunder.
Rich Paul responds to swipe Michael Jordan’s agent took at LeBron James
Michael Jordan’s longtime agent recently took a swipe at LeBron James, and Rich Paul has now issued a response on behalf of his client and close friend.
David Falk, who represented Jordan throughout the Chicago Bulls legend’s entire NBA career, discussed a wide range of topics in an interview with Rob Schaefer of Sports Business Journal that was published on Tuesday. When about the long-running greatest of all time debate, Falk obviously said he ranks Jordan No. 1.
But it got interesting after that. For Falk, it seems there is no Jordan vs. LeBron debate. Falk said he views either Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Kobe Bryant as the second-best player of all time. He did concede that James is in his top 10, but Falk mentioned how LeBron has jumped from team to team.
“I really like LeBron. But I think if Jordan had cherry-picked what teams he wanted to be on and two other superstars, he would’ve won 15 championships,” Falk said.
Falk was referring to the fact that LeBron teamed up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to win two championships with the Miami Heat. James then returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers when Kyrie Irving was already an established star. The Cavs also acquired Kevin Love before James helped his hometown team win a title.
LeBron won his fourth championship with the Los Angeles Lakers while playing alongside Anthony Davis.
Paul was not happy with Falk’s comments
Paul was bothered by what Falk said about James. During an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show” Thursday, Paul brought up Falk’s comments unprompted and said he took exception to the “cherry-pick” remark.
“When you look at that, right, again the cherry-pick, I’ve discussed that. The two other superstars — Michael never had to leave,” Paul said, as transcribed by Bryan Fonseca of the New York Post. “Michael’s never been the underdog in any Finals. Not one time. Michael never had a 24-hour-365 news cycle. He never had shows built strictly to criticize him. People made millions of dollars criticizing LeBron James. That was their entire job.
“And when you talk about the difficulty of it all, Michael played for Dean Smith, Michael played for Phil Jackson, and Michael had Jerry Krause. I’m the biggest Michael Jordan fan ever, love Michael Jordan, and I don’t think Michael Jordan would’ve used the term ‘cherry-pick,’ so I’m not up here to discredit Michael Jordan. I think Michael Jordan transcended our game to a level that we all benefited from.”
Paul felt the argument was “beneath” Falk and noted how the agent benefitted from having relationships with legendary former coaches Dean Smith, Mike Krzyzewski and John Thompson. Paul said those coaches funneled star players to Falk and helped Falk’s career, so Paul felt the “cherry-picking” comment was hypocritical.
It is almost impossible to compare players across different eras, which is why most prominent members of the NBA community take the high road when the LeBron vs. Michael debate comes up. We could have told which side of the argument Falk and Paul would be on.
Charles Barkley makes surprising revelation about his gambling habits
Sports gambling has become increasingly popular in recent years as more states legalize it, but Charles Barkley is still placing his bets the old-school way.
Barkley made a guest appearance on TNT’s alternate broadcast of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final between the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night. He admitted to studio hosts Paul Bissonnette and Will Arnett that he thought the Toronto Maple Leafs were “a lock” in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals despite their lengthy history of choking in that exact situation.
Barkley said he told his bookie that “Game 7 is a lock for Toronto.” He called the loss, which was the Maple Leafs’ sixth straight in a Game 7, “demoralizing.”
But Bissonette and Arnett seemed more fixated on Barkley saying he has a bookie. The Hall of Fame former NBA star elaborated.
“Hey, FanDuel only lets me bet so much, so I gotta have a bookie on the side,” Barkley said.
Charles Barkley's gambling is apparently too much for FanDuel to contain.
— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) May 23, 2025
"FanDuel only lets me bet so much so I gotta have a bookie on the side." pic.twitter.com/FTLLpX2odG
FanDuel, DraftKings and all other major sportsbooks should give Barkley a call after hearing that and offer to raise his limits. We certainly know he is good for the money. Though, Chuck probably has other reasons for not wanting to use one of the mainstream sports betting apps. The IRS probably took note of his comments as well.
Barkley has long been open about his love for gambling. He revealed years ago that he bet five figures on a game and was furious with the NFL over the way he lost.
If you want to know why bookies will never go out of business even as legal sports betting becomes more widespread, just ask Barkley.
Pablo Torre uncovers full story behind infamous shirtless Bill Belichick video
It has been well over a year since a surreal video surfaced of a shirtless Bill Belichick doing what many called the “walk of shame,” and Pablo Torre recently went to great lengths to uncover the full story behind the clip.
In November 2023, some footage from a Ring door camera was shared on social media that showed a man purported to be Belichick walking out of the front door of a home and going down some steps. Belichick, who was 72 at the time, almost resembled a college kid who had just had a long night of partying.
Eventually, the dots were connected and people realized Belichick had been staying with Jordon Hudson. The two supposedly began dating earlier that year. There were some reports that the home Belichick was walking out of belonged to Hudson, but that was not entirely true.
Hudson had rented an Airbnb
Torre, who has spent recent weeks digging as deeply as he can into Belichick’s relationship with the 24-year-old Hudson, recently tracked down the New England-area rental property where Belichick had been staying when the Ring camera video was recorded. Torre rented the Airbnb himself, which led to him having a conversation with the owners.
The former ESPN host also uncovered a new video from the same Ring camera that showed a shirtless Belichick walking down the stairs with some sort of satchel over his shoulder.
Torre shared the video and much, much more during the latest episode of his “Pablo Torre Finds Out” show on Friday.

The Airbnb owners share their story
Torre played audio of an interview he conducted with a male and female who own the Airbnb together. The owners said Hudson rented the unit and that they were initially concerned for her because of the age discrepancy between Hudson and the person she checked into the property with.
“We saw the Ring video in the morning not knowing who this was, but it was an older gentleman with a very young woman who checked in the night before,” the female owner said, as transcribed by Douglas Charles of Bro Bible. “And a car parked up where it said no parking was like worrisome to us that this is going to shut us down. We need to make sure that they know registered guests cannot…”
At that point, the male owner interjected to share his theories on the man that checked into the Airbnb with Hudson.
“She’s with this creepy old guy who’s either her relative or a drug dealer was the first thing. … Because of the age discrepancy, you go, ‘He must be a freaking coke dealer,’” he said. “So that was her first reaction. And then I started looking. I’m like, ‘That does look like Belichick.’”
The male owner also said the two owners thought Hudson might be “a dancer or an escort.” They eventually became convinced that the man they saw on their Ring camera was Belichick and that he was leaving the property early for practice with the New England Patriots.
How did the video leak?
One big question has always been how the Ring camera footage got out. The Airbnb owners told Torre that they wanted to make it “extraordinarily clear” that they did not release the video to the public or to anyone to share on social media. They did, however, send the video to a friend when they were trying to make sense of what was going on.
The owners don’t feel too badly about the video leaking. They said the “regret not making money off” of it after seeing it in Netflix specials and elsewhere.
The relationship between Belichick and Hudson has become one of the biggest stories of the offseason as Belichick prepares for his first year at North Carolina. In some ways, the Ring camera video is where all the gossip began.
Knicks ending gets Larry David remix
The New York Knicks had a historic collapse in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday night, and it only seemed fitting that Larry David was seated courtside to watch it unfold.
The Knicks built a huge lead in Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers and were up by as many as 14 points late in the fourth quarter. It looked like they were headed for a blowout all night, but they somehow managed to lose 138-135 in overtime.
David, who is a huge Knicks fan, was in a familiar courtside spot to experience the roller coast of emotions. His reaction after Tyrese Haliburton sent the game to overtime with a buzzer-beater could not have been more classic Larry David.
Someone even gave it the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” treatment:
I couldn’t help myself pic.twitter.com/FUkLpEstLH
— kev (@kevtaddei) May 22, 2025
L.D. was also disgusted with the Knicks for allowing Aaron Nesmith to make six three-pointers in the fourth quarter, which was a record for a player in the fourth quarter of a postseason game. You can see David throwing his hands in the air every time Nesmith was left open and delivered:
Yall watch Larry David. My man is forever throwing his hands up. I love him pic.twitter.com/pI8hhVFY6k
— Kevin (@frompuerto) May 22, 2025
It has been said by many that the Larry David in “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is a portrayal of the real-life Larry David, and there is plenty of evidence to support that. His reactions during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals said it all.
Fans having fun with photo shared by Luka Doncic’s girlfriend
Fans were having fun online Thursday with a photo shared by Luka Doncic’s girlfriend.
Doncic’s girlfriend Ana Maria Goltes, to whom he became engaged in 2023, shared a photo on her Instagram Story of some food she was cooking. The food was cooking in a pan and seemed to be a rice dish that included vegetables like pees, zucchini, carrots and corn.
A popular Lakers fan account shared the photo on X and added some great commentary:
“Luka Doncic’s wife cooking healthy food,” the fan wrote. “League is in trouble next season.”

The two photos suggested Doncic was making it a point to get into better shape this offseason.

— Josiah Johnson (@KingJosiah54) May 22, 2025
There is quite a backstory to all this that makes the photo and storyline humorous.
Doncic has long been scrutinized over his playing shape and for seemingly being in less-than-stellar condition. His offseason conditioning was said to be a big factor in why the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first place.
So, to recap, the photo shared by Doncic’s girlfriend led to jokes and got people excited that Doncic might be getting into great shape this offseason. So far, there is no evidence to suggest that will be the case. Lakers coach JJ Redick also seemed to share the same complaint the Mavs had about Doncic, which isn’t exactly encouraging.
Tony Reali responds to claim that ESPN felt ‘Around the Horn’ was too woke
The final episode of “Around the Horn” will air on Friday after a run that lasted more than two decades, and there have been a few theories as to why ESPN decided to cancel the show. Longtime host Tony Reali has addressed some of that speculation.
Jay Mariotti, who was a regular panelist on “Around the Horn” before he had legal trouble in 2010, said in a recent interview with Front Office Sports that he believes the show became “too woke” and political.
“It was fun. It was great entertaining fun. And it veered off into politics and whatever the hell it became,” Mariotti said. “If I’m getting riled up about today in 2025, it’s because they didn’t have to go in that direction. If they’d stuck to what they did, they didn’t.”
Mariotti’s remarks meshed with a recent report about why ESPN executives decided it was time to move on from “Around the Horn.”
Reali has hosted “Around the Horn” since Max Kellerman left the show in 2004. During an appearance on “FOS Today” Thursday, Reali was asked about Mariotti and others claiming “Around the Horn” hosts had become too infatuated with social issues.
“I don’t know if I have an answer; I don’t know if I need an answer,” Reali said. “A creative difference in network decision-making? That’s understandable. I can live with that. Make your best opinion and prove it. If you think the show was one thing or the other, show me, give me 20 to 30 examples. That’s how I feel. We’ve done 50,000 topics. I don’t believe the show is too anything, honestly.”
Reali insisted he was never once contacted by executives at ESPN regarding concerns about things that were said on the show.
There is no question “Around the Horn” panelists became more comfortable discussing social issues on the show in recent years. A recent example of that came last week when Kate Fagan returned to the program and spoke about transgender kids playing sports.
Fagan, who had not appeared on “Around the Horn” in three years, said she was proud that the show provided a platform for “diversity and inclusion” and “lifting up new voices.”
Fagan sat alongside Jemele Hill, who parted ways with ESPN years ago because of her constant insistence on speaking about social issues.
It is unclear how ESPN plans to replace “Around the Horn” in its daily schedule, though one idea that came up led to some ruthless jokes from fans.
Brock Lesnar looks totally different in recent photo
A recent photo of Brock Lesnar has surfaced and is receiving attention online because the former wrestling star looks totally different in it.
The photos show Lesnar in a 3-piece gray suit with a light blue shirt underneath. In one photo, Lesnar is standing with his wife Rena Lesnar, better known as Sable. In the photos, Lesnar has a long beard and long hair that goes down about 5-6 inches below his shoulders. Based on the type of nice clothing both of the Lesnars are wearing, it seems like the photos were taken at a fancy event.
Lesnar has not wrestled in a WWE event since his participation at SummerSlam in August 2023. WWE began to distance themselves from him after he was named in Janel Grant’s lawsuit, which was filed in January 2024. In general, Lesnar lives a very private life when he’s not involved in WWE. That’s why seeing a photo of him — and seeing him with the long hair — captivates fans.
The 47-year-old Lesnar was a champion wrestler in college at Minnesota and at the junior college level before that. He became a WWE champion in 2002 at the age of 25. Lesnar had a high-profile tryout with the Minnesota Vikings in 2004, though he did not make their roster.
Beyond his career as a wrestler, Lesnar also became a professional mixed martial artist. He competed in the UFC and won the UFC Heavyweight Championship in 2008, successfully defending his belt twice. Lesnar completed his mixed martial arts career at 5-3 with one no contest.
Lesnar’s daughter Mya recently made headlines after she won her fourth straight Mountain West title in the shot put.

Pro boxer Georgia O’Connor dies at age 25
British professional boxer Georgia O’Connor has died following a battle with cancer.
O’Connor’s promotional company, Boxxer, shared the news of the boxer’s death in a statement on social media Thursday. O’Connor was 25.
“We are heartbroken by the passing of Georgia O’Connor. A true warrior inside and outside the ring, the boxing community has lost a talented, courageous and determined young woman far too soon,” Boxxer said in a statement.

O’Connor revealed in a social media post back in January that she had been diagnosed with cancer. She said she had been in “constant pain” for 17 weeks prior to the diagnosis but that doctors dismissed her concerns. O’Connor said she knew something was “seriously wrong” with her and believed it was cancer.
“Not one doctor took me seriously. Not one doctor did the scans or blood tests I begged for whilst crying on the floor in agony. Instead, they dismissed me,” O’Connor wrote. “They gaslit me, told me it was nothing, made me feel like I was overreacting. They refused to scan me. They refused to investigate. They REFUSED to listen. One even told me that it’s ‘all in my head.’
“And now? Now the cancer has spread. And if that wasn’t enough, throughout this whole time there’s been BLOOD CLOTS all over my lungs. That ALONE could have killed me instantly. They could have done something before it got to this stage. But they didn’t.”
O’Connor indicated that she was told the cancer was terminal but expressed confidence that she would beat it. You can read the full post:
In a separate post on Feb. 18, O’Connor revealed that she had been pregnant but suffered a miscarriage. She wrote that she still felt “on top of the world” despite being diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer.
Then on May 9, which was two weeks before her death, O’Connor shared a photo that showed two hands with wedding bands on them. She captioned the post “09.05.2025. The day I married the love of my life.” It is unclear if she was already married or if she was engaged and the date listed was supposed to be her wedding date.
O’Connor was 3-0 in her career as a professional boxer. She also won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017 as an amateur.
President Trump had nice compliment for Florida’s 7-foot-9 center
Florida basketball player Olivier Rioux is so tall that almost everyone who meets him is blown away, even the President of the United States.
The Florida Gators visited the White House on Wednesday to be honored for winning the 2025 NCAA basketball championship. President Donald Trump praised the team for their resilience and noted how they came from behind multiple times during the NCAA Tournament, including when they overcame a 12-point deficit in the national title game against Houston.
Trump then gave Rioux, Florida’s 7-foot-9 center, a big compliment. The president called Rioux a “beautiful looking guy” while admiring Rioux’s height.

— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) May 21, 2025
Rioux did not play last season, as he took a redshirt year as a freshman. The Canada native still received plenty of attention during Florida’s national championship run because of his height.
After the Gators beat Houston, Rioux effortlessly cut down his piece of the net without using a ladder (video here). An insane photo of him standing next to a reporter also circulated all over the internet.
Despite his height, Rioux is only listed as a 3-star prospect. Former Purdue star Zach Edey, who is 7-foot-4, was also a 3-star prospect, and he developed into a 2-time National Player of the Year. Florida is hoping for similar results with Rioux.
If Rioux’s basketball career does not pan out, Trump seems to think the youngster has a future in modeling.
Fans had jokes over report that ESPN planned a Shannon Sharpe show
The recent allegations against Shannon Sharpe may have thrown ESPN for an ever bigger loop than initially believed.
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN at one point considered Sharpe for a role in a debate show that would replace “Around the Horn,” which will air its final episode on Friday. Marchand says the project would have also involved Stephen A. Smith and was discussed before Smith signed his massive new contract with ESPN.
Marchand did not specify whether Smith would have had an on-air role in the show or whether the idea was nixed prior to Smith and ESPN reaching a new deal. Either way, the idea seems dead now after Sharpe took what he says is a temporary hiatus from ESPN.
The idea of Sharpe hosting a new show led to some ruthless jokes from fans:

Sharpe stepped away from ESPN after a woman made troubling assault allegations against him in a lawsuit seeking more than $50 million. Sharpe has maintained his innocence and says his relationship with the woman — who was identified by Sharpe’s legal team as Gabriella Zuniga — was completely consensual.
Sharpe has accused Zuniga of a shakedown and concocting a scheme after Sharpe refused to have a baby with her. The suit has led to a number of embarrassing text messages being released, and Sharpe’s lawyers insist they are proof that the 56-year-old is innocent.
ESPN has yet to make a firm statement about Sharpe’s future, and it is unclear if or when he might return from his hiatus.
Angel Reese puts together another embarrassing sequence
Angel Reese put together another embarrassing sequence that drew attention.
Reese’s Chicago Sky lost to the New York Liberty 99-74 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. Reese went 0-for-8 on field goals and 2/6 on free throws for two points. She had 12 rebounds and 3 steals.
There was one sequence in the first quarter where she missed about five shots and got about four rebounds on the same possession. It was pretty terrible to watch.
Angel Reese is IN HER BAG pic.twitter.com/Mg7aXcOAxy
— Hater Report (@HaterReport_) May 23, 2025
On the official play-by-play, Reese was listed for that sequence as having five offensive rebounds, two missed shots, and two of her shots blocked.
Why does this feel familiar for Reese? She had a very similar sequence in a game last year that also circulated online. Reese’s problems with trying to force the issue after getting offensive rebounds is something Lisa Leslie tried to address with the second-year player.
Reese’s ability to grab rebounds is admirable. Her determination to put back her own misses is something she really could use work on.
2-time MLB All-Star infielder announces his retirement
A former All-Star infielder is ready to relax in the hammock.
Jean Segura announced this week in a joint Instagram post with his agency, CAA Baseball, that he has officially retired as a player. Segura is calling it a career after 12 total seasons played with six different MLB teams.
Now 35 years old, Segura played primarily as a shortstop but also as a second baseman and a third baseman. After signing with the Los Angeles Angels as an international free agent from his native Dominican Republic in 2007 and spending several years in the Angels organization, Segura was included as part of the 2012 Zack Greinke trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Segura made an All-Star team with the Brewers in 2013 and also later made an All-Star team with the Seattle Mariners in 2018. He played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Philadelphia Phillies (whom he made the World Series with in 2022), and the Miami Marlins over various points of his career as well.
A righty hitter, Segura also led the National League in hits with 203 as a member of the Dbacks in 2016. He was a .281 hitter over the course of his MLB career, finishing with three separate seasons batting .300 or better.
Segura last played for the Marlins in 2023, hitting a rough .219 over 85 games before going unsigned for the entire 2024 season. Now Segura, who also served as a big-time vibes guy during his career, is ready to finally call it quits.
Jaden McDaniels gets flagrant foul for shoving Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Jaden McDaniels let frustration get the better of him on Thursday night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves forward McDaniels picked up a flagrant foul in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was during the fourth quarter of the game at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, O.K. when Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was bringing the ball up the floor.
McDaniels, who was defending Gilgeous-Alexander, felt that Gilgeous-Alexander had committed an offensive foul in the form of an arm hook. The referees did not blow their whistle though, so McDaniels decided to take matters into his own hands.
Immediately after the hook, McDaniels caught up to Gilgeous-Alexander and gave him a shove to the ground. The shove was called as a personal foul at the time but was upgraded to a flagrant 1 upon review. Here is the video of the play.

Another angle of the shove can be seen below.

— Timberwolves Clips (@WolvesClips) May 23, 2025
McDaniels, Minnesota’s top perimeter defender, has drawn Gilgeous-Alexander as his primary assignment in the Western Conference Finals. But it has very much been a Sisyphean task for McDaniels given Gilgeous-Alexander’s strong knack for drawing fouls.
During Game 1, McDaniels fouled out as Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points on 11/14 free throws to lead the Thunder to a 114-88 win. Thursday’s Game 2 was also more of the same with McDaniels picking up five fouls as Gilgeous-Alexander scored 38 points on 13/15 free throws to lead the Thunder to a 118-103 win.
NBA fans in general are largely getting tired of Gilgeous-Alexander’s foul-baiting style of play (which is ultimately getting rewarded by the referees too). During Thursday’s game, it was clear that McDaniels is tired of it as well.
Jim Irsay’s expected successor as Colts owner is revealed
A familiar figure will likely be taking over for Jim Irsay in Indianapolis.
Carlie Irsay-Gordon, the eldest daughter of Irsay, is expected to assume control of the Colts’ football operations in the wake of her father’s death, Joel A. Erickson of the Indianapolis Star reported on Thursday. Erickson notes that Irsay-Gordon is expected to share ownership of the Colts with her younger sisters, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson, both of whom have long held official roles in the organization as well. However, Irsay-Gordon is the one who will likely be taking over on the football side for the Colts.
Irsay-Gordon is not a surprising pick given that she had already been preparing for such a role for several years now. It was Irsay-Gordon who took over on an interim basis for her father in the wake of his 2014 arrest for driving while intoxicated (which resulted in both a treatment period for Irsay plus a six-game suspension from the NFL).
Erickson further reports that Irsay-Gordon has been closely involved with football operations for the Colts for over two decades now. She initially began in the team’s football and marketing departments before attending NFL owners’ meetings with her father starting in the early 2000s.
You can read Erickson’s full report on the situation here.
Irsay, who had been the principal owner, CEO, and chairman of the Colts since 1997, died on Wednesday at the age of 65. In the wake of Irsay’s death, he received plenty of tributes from the sports world and was the subject of many great stories about his generosity.
Referee Scott Foster bloodied after getting hit by Lu Dort in Game 2
Scott Foster found himself as the latest (unexpected) victim of The Dorture Chamber.
The veteran referee Foster served as the crew chief for Thursday’s Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder. During the first quarter of the game at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, O.K., Foster did a jump ball between Minnesota’s Julius Randle and Oklahoma City’s Lu Dort.
The ball ultimately got knocked out of bounds but not without some scratching and clawing by Dort … directed at Foster. On his follow-through from the jump, Dort caught Foster in the face with an arm swing. Foster was left bleeding as a result, causing a brief delay in the game while Foster was attended to by training staff members.
Foster would soon return to the game with some gauze up his nostrils. Check out the video of the blow that he took from Dort.

Foster, a 30-year veteran NBA official, just returned to action a couple of weeks ago after missing over a month due to a calf injury that he suffered during a game. Now during Thursday’s playoff game, Foster had himself yet another painful moment.
Interestingly enough, 12-time All-Star point guard Chris Paul, a former Thunder player, was in attendance during the game in Oklahoma City. Paul has a very long and bitter history of beef with Foster and probably had to be smirking a little bit on Thursday at the sight of a bloodied Foster.
Brittany Mahomes stuns in dress at poolside party
Brittany Mahomes looked stunning in a dress she wore at a poolside party in Las Vegas, Nev., recently.
Patrick Mahomes’ “15 and the Mahomies Foundation” held a Pairing Party as part of its Vegas Golf Classic last week. The event was held at LIQUID Pool Lounge, and Brittany shared a few photos on Instagram of her at the party. One particular photo caught everyone’s eye.

Awesome video surfaces of ‘Inside the NBA’ crew reacting to Tyrese Haliburton shot
Tyrese Haliburton produced arguably the greatest moment of the NBA playoffs thus far, and it gets even better when you see how the “Inside the NBA” crew reacted in real time.
The Indiana Pacers star Haliburton hit a shot for the ages on Wednesday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y. After trailing by 14 with under three minutes left, Indiana got a unbelievable game-tying basket from Haliburton as time expired in regulation.
Haliburton had the ball knocked away and proceeded to launch a stepback prayer that bounced high off the back of the rim and then gently back down through the basket (video here). The Pacers then went on to win the game in overtime 138-135, stunning the Knicks on their home floor to take a 1-0 series lead.
On Thursday, a camera operator for “Inside the NBA” (who goes by the name of Slice) posted to Instagram a priceless video showing the entire crew’s live reaction to Haliburton’s shot. Take a look below (but watch out for the bad language).
There was certainly a lot going on in that video. Charles Barkley was out there celebrating (later dropping a loud F-bomb for good measure). Draymond Green (guesting for the show during the conference finals) was yelling, “Oh my god!” Kenny Smith immediately held up two fingers, seemingly knowing all along that Haliburton’s shot was a two. Shaquille O’Neal was playing the role of contrarian by holding up three fingers. And even the usually even-keeled Ernie Johnson was sitting there with his mouth agape.
While there is still a whole lot of series left to be played between the Knicks and the Pacers, that was the most epic reaction video we have seen since the one of Stephen A. Smith and Michael Wilbon reacting to Deandre Ayton’s “Valley Oop” in 2021.
Fans said the same thing about Caitlin Clark’s pregame outfit
Caitlin Clark drew attention for the outfit she wore to her Indiana Fever’s game on Thursday, which had everyone saying the same thing.
Clark was recorded wearing a beige skirt, short red top, and beige trench coat while walking in to State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga., for her Fever’s game against the Atlanta Dream.

Fans commented that the outfit made her look like a State Farm insurance employee.

It's Caitlin from State Farm

Of course, the observation from the fans was spot-on, and Clark’s outfit was intentional. It seemed to be done in conjunction with a new State Farm commercial featuring Clark that was released on Wednesday.
So Clark dresses in a State Farm outfit for a game at State Farm Arena, and a commercial featuring her promoting State Farm was released a day before. That’s what we call a good, coordinated campaign activation.
But could Clark have looked any more uncomfortable while walking into the arena?
The game was the Fever’s third of the season and second since Clark’s publicized incident with Angel Reese.
