Mariners fan taking a selfie video before getting hit with a foul ball

Fan captures herself getting struck in the head by a foul ball

May 16, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

One unsuspecting Seattle Mariners fan went from the stands to the emergency room real quick while watching her team play against the San Diego Padres.

The fan was taking a video of herself and a friend during one of Padres second baseman Sung-Mun Song’s at-bats during Friday’s series opener at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Wash. Judging by the scoreboard behind her, the incident happened with Song at the plate to lead off the top of the 5th inning.

Song had just hit a high foul ball, which looped close enough to the group of ladies for the fan to point it out while she took the video. The next foul ball came in hot and struck the fan directly on her head just a few seconds later.

Fortunately for the Mariners fan, her sunglasses seemed to soften the blow a little bit. However, she still ended up going to the emergency room at Harborview Medical Center, just a couple of miles away from T-Mobile Park.

The fan at least did not miss much, as the Mariners failed to score a single run despite recording 7 hits against the Padres. Seattle lost to San Diego 2-0, adding insult to her injury.

Eli Manning details the chaotic scene that convinced him to hold out on Chargers

May 16, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Eli Manning has shed light on his decision to hold out on the San Diego Chargers back when he was the No. 1 prospect in the 2004 NFL draft.

Manning infamously refused to play for the Chargers, who held the No. 1 pick at the time, due to the less-than-stellar team infrastructure in San Diego at the time.

During a recent interview on the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast, Manning was asked about his thought process leading up to him blacklisting the Chargers. The two-time Super Bowl winner pointed to one incident in particular when Manning felt like a child listening to his parents fighting at the dinner table.

“I just didn’t feel like they were the most committed team to winning at the time. Marty Schottenheimer was the head coach. He was awesome, had great respect for him. They came to work me out in New Orleans, went to dinner, there was just friction between the head coach, the general manager, the owners, they were all yelling, kind of like fighting.

“We were at a Marriott restaurant. Schottenheimer’s mad like, ‘We’re in New Orleans, and we’re eating at a Marriott? So he’s pissed, and they’re bickering. It didn’t seem like there was a whole lot of agreement on things.”

As the story goes, Manning ended up getting traded to the New York Giants, where he became a franchise icon who beat Tom Brady twice at the peak of his powers.

During his playing days, Manning tried to avoid talking about his snub of San Diego. But with his career long over and the Chargers no longer even being in the same city, he’s finally comfortable enough to broach the subject again.

Conor McGregor’s opponent is revealed in his return to UFC after 5-year hiatus

May 16, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao

Conor McGregor is set to enter the octagon again for the first time in half a decade.

The Irish MMA fighter has been inactive since his last UFC fight against Dustin Poirier back in 2021. On Saturday, McGregor’s official return fight was announced, with his opponent being Max Holloway. The bout will be the main event of UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

[ #UFC329 LIVE July 11 on @ParamountPlus ] pic.twitter.com/uVxVdgV9Gm

— UFC (@ufc) May 17, 2026

Within minutes of the fight being announced to the public, McGregor was already back to his trash-talking ways. He reposted Holloway’s sizzle reel for the event with a very on-brand caption.

“I’m gonna son you, child. Again,” McGregor captioned his post.

I’m gonna son you, child. Again. https://t.co/75YlXXl5SH

— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 17, 2026

The UFC 329 clash will be a rematch of the first McGregor-Holloway face-off that took place all the way back in 2013. Back then, a 21-year-old Holloway lost to a 25-year-old McGregor via unanimous decision. While McGregor was victorious, he suffered a torn ACL during the match and was out of action for nearly a year.

Conor’s victory over Max was his 10th straight win in what would be his career-best 15-fight win streak that culminated in his iconic 13-second KO of Jose Aldo. Holloway’s loss to McGregor sparked his own double-digit win streak, with the Hawaii native going 13-0 from 2014 to 2018 and winning the UFC featherweight belt.

While the news is massive for both McGregor and the UFC, fight fans know not to expect anything for certain until the bell rings for Round 1. The global superstar was supposed to end his hiatus in 2024 against Michael Chandler before McGregor suffered a severe toe injury in the lead-up to the bout.

Michigan champion is reportedly rising up NBA Draft boards

May 16, 2026 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

A reigning Michigan national champion may be a surprise inclusion in the lottery of this year’s NBA Draft.

Ex-Wolverines forward Morez Johnson Jr. was one of the biggest risers at the NBA Combine this month, Adam Finkelstein of CBS Sports reports. Finkelstein notes that Johnson is now in play to be taken in the late lottery (with teams picking in the early 20s now reportedly acknowledging that Johnson will likely be off the board at that point).

Johnson, a 20-year-old power forward, was a major contributor for Michigan this past season. He averaged 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game and appeared in all 40 games as the Wolverines won their first national title since 1989.

On top of that, Johnson posted some very impressive numbers at the NBA Combine. He clocked in at 6-foot-9 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan and also had a 39-inch max vertical leap.

Johnson is best known for his versatile, high-motor defense and his ability to be physical with opponents down low. Combined with his measurables, Johnson could fit the mold of a switchable NBA 4-man perfectly.

If Johnson makes his way into the lottery in this year’s draft, it could be a trifecta for the Wolverines. Also expected to be lottery picks are his ex-Michigan teammates Yaxel Lendeborg and Aday Mara (the latter of whom just posted some unbelievable measurements at the NBA Combine as well).

Timberwolves star has brutally honest take on what doomed Minnesota

May 16, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid does not believe a lack of talent is what’s holding his team back.

Reid spoke to reporters on Saturday for his exit interview following the T-Wolves’ second-round exit at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. The former Sixth Man of the Year gave a candid response when asked about what separates Minnesota from the Spurs and the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

“Probably just the moodiness,” Reid said, via Timberwolves reporter Dane Moore. “You look at both of those teams, and they’re playing for one another, they’re excited to be on the floor with one another, they’re a team where they’re selfless.

“I think we have more than enough talent. I think we have more than enough guys bringing that to the table, competing at a high level. But just being less moody. I think that’s just the name of the game for us, just being less moody and more selfless. Carrying ourselves with championship aspirations.”

Some fans felt like Reid was directly talking about All-Star power forward Julius Randle, who had a productive Game 1 but struggled for the rest of the series.

He’s gotta be talking about Julius.

— East Austin Zaddy (@El_Jefe_Mayor) May 16, 2026

With every shot of his that went off the rim or got swatted away by Victor Wembanyama, Randle seemed to give off worsening body language. It didn’t help that Randle was the only Timberwolves player to ditch his exit interview following a Game 6 ouster, wherein he scored just three points on 1/8 shooting.

Whether Reid was referring to Randle or the Timberwolves team as a whole, it’s clear that change is needed in Minnesota — whether that be in the team’s temperament or roster construction. Not even Anthony Edwards has the answer to what that change will look like as the T-Wolves head into the offseason.

Deion Sanders responds to Shilo Sanders’ disrespectful shot at a Browns reporter

May 16, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Deion Sanders has finally spoken out about the controversial remark made by his son, Shilo, targeted at Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

It can be recalled that Shilo came to the defense of his brother, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, after Cabot shared her observation that Deshaun Watson appeared to be leading the QB competition in Cleveland.

While it was understandable for Shilo to stand up for his brother, he got himself at the center of fans’ crosshairs when he told Cabot to “make me a sandwich.”

In a recent appearance on “The Barbershop” with Garrett Bush, the Sanders patriarch shared his thoughts on the situation Shilo found himself in.

“We don’t talk about nobody,” Deion Sanders said. “We don’t do nothing to nobody. I know Shilo had a little altercation that he spoke up for his brother. You’ve got to understand, man, that’s his brother.”

And God bless Mary Kay’s soul, that’s his brother. “I mean, she said something, he said something, like media is different today. I know a lot of people don’t respect the old school. I do, because I grew up in that era that we didn’t have a say so. . . . But Shilo spoke up for his brother, and he was ridiculed for that.”

Deion simply wants everyone to understand where Shilo was coming from. At the same time, Shilo could have also used better words to express his thoughts.

This is perhaps a learning lesson for Shilo, who was waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the start of the 2025 season.

Blazers owner responds to backlash over his ‘cheap’ moves

May 16, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Portland Trail Blazers owner Tom Dundun has admitted that he still has a lot to learn when it comes to NBA spending habits.

Dundun has caught a ton of flak in his first season as the Blazers’ owner for his seemingly excessive cost-cutting measures. His name went viral after news of his decision to cut the budget for free T-shirts during Portland’s two home playoff games in the team’s first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Blazers were also the only playoff team that opted not to bring their two-way players on the road with them. While two-way players are ineligible to play in the postseason, they did contribute to helping get Portland into the playoffs.

Caleb Love, in particular, played a huge role for the Blazers during stretches wherein their guard depth was decimated by injuries. He watched from home as Portland split Games 1 and 2 in San Antonio.

Dundun addressed the “cheap” talk this week on the “Game Over” podcast with Rich Paul and Max Kellerman. The billionaire, who also owns the Carolina Hurricanes, pointed to the Blazers having $100 million in additional spending capacity versus his NHL team.

“I’m just not gonna waste $100 million just because someone wants to write an article calling me cheap,” told Kellerman and Paul. “I’m not going to do it. It’s hard because I don’t think of a budget when it comes to the playing team and how to make sure we win.

“Some of the stuff that was blamed on money is actually not 100 percent true. That I thought about the money. Like on traveling players, I just made a mistake. I just don’t understand the league. In hockey we don’t travel extra people because we’re not on vacation, we’re here to win. I don’t want the distraction. The NBA seems to live with those distractions. It’s not how I think about it. So you gotta sort of have to learn.”

Dundon called it a “mistake” that he didn’t include Portland’s two-way players, but he sure did not sound like he agreed with the practice by labeling the move as a potential “distraction.”

The 54-year-old also addressed the rumors about him refusing to pay for late checkout for the team. Dundon claimed the hotel did not offer late checkout and asked him to pay for another night, which he did for players and coaches but not for the rest of the Blazers’ traveling party. In his eyes, Checkout was at 1:00 p.m., and the staff was expected to convene at a private ballroom to work 45 minutes later, anyway.

Dundon’s cost-cutting habits on more inconsequential things made him a meme for a week. But it’s also placed him under a microscope heading into a crucial offseason for the Blazers.

If he continues to cheap out when it comes to players and coaches, the noise will grow much louder.

Bobby Witt Jr. had an incredible 1000-IQ play against Cardinals

May 16, 2026 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Bobby Witt Jr. clearly has the baseball IQ badge maxed out.

The Kansas City Royals star Witt went viral during Saturday’s game for an incredible fake-out that saved his team a run. Kansas City was playing on Saturday against the cross-state rival St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Mo.

In the eighth inning of the contest, Cardinals first baseman Alec Burleson hit an RBI single into left field. The base hit scored lead runner Masyn Wynn, and Royals catcher Elias Diaz tried to nail trailing runner Ivan Herrera at third base instead.

Diaz’s throw sailed way over the head of the Kansas City shortstop Witt, who was covering third at the time, and went into left field. But Witt saved a run on the play by completely fooling Herrera.

Witt kept his glove on Herrera all throughout the sequence, pretending as if he had the ball in his glove and was keeping the tag on Herrera just in case. That led to Herrera remaining firmly planted on the bag, even as his third-base coach and his teammate Wynn were yelling frantically for Herrera to run home.

Here is the video.

Witt’s awesome play really did not matter in the end as the Cardinals still went on to defeat the Royals by a final score of 4-2. But the two-time MLB All-Star Witt is always a wizard in the field, whether it is with his incredible range at short or with his smarts like on Saturday.

Canadiens had the most ridiculous start to Game 6 against the Sabres

May 16, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The Montreal Canadiens had a blazing start to Game 6 of their second-round series against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.

The Habs trailed early, with the Sabres finding the back of the net first off a goal by Buffalo defenseman Rasmus Dahlin just 32 seconds into the contest at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

But the Canadiens had a blistering response to that, as they scored the next three goals to close out the first period. All it took for the Habs to get a 3-1 lead by the end of the first frame was three shots on goal.

With  Jake Evans scoring the Canadiens’ third goal of the game at 10:14 of the first period, Montreal became just the first team since real-time shot date was officially tracked in 2010 to score 3 goals on 3 shots in an NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs game, according to the league’s official public relations X account.

Here is a look at Evans’ goal that also sent everyone in the building into a frenzy.

Montreal’s offense has been incredible in this series against the Sabres. In the first five games, the Habs outscored Buffalo,  21-13.

With a win in Game 6, the Canadiens would close out the Buffalo series and advance to the Eastern Conference finals, where the Carolina Hurricanes are waiting.

Aaron Rodgers makes a final decision on his 2026 future

May 16, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Aaron Rodgers is going to be sticking with the Pittsburgh Steelers after all.

The future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback will be running it back with the AFC North franchise after agreeing to a new contract with the Steelers.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Rodgers’ new deal with Pittsburgh is for a year and worth up to $25 million. The base salary is said to be between $22 and $23 million.

Although most signs in recent days and weeks pointed to Rodgers eventually reuniting with the Steelers, this report squashes any remaining rumors about the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player’s future in 2026.

Now that the biggest item on their offseason checklist has finally been checked off, the Steelers can focus more on preparing for the 2026 campaign, which will also be their first in the post-Mike Tomlin era.

With Rodgers coming back, he and Mike McCarthy can hunt for their second Super Bowl title together. They won their first one as a head coach-quarterback tandem back in 2011 with the Green Bay Packers by defeating, interestingly enough, their current employers.

It remains to be seen just how effective the 42-year-old Rodgers can still be on the field, but barring a sharp decline from his 2025 performance, he can be expected to provide a solid presence under center. In his first season with the Steelers, he threw for 3,322 passing yards and 23 touchdowns with 7 interceptions on a 65.7% completion rate.

Fernando Mendoza turns heads after going the extra mile for a fan

May 16, 2026 by Rex Villas

By most accounts, Fernando Mendoza is a good guy. He proved that again with a simple gesture that one fan will not forget for the rest of his life.

During the NFLPA Rookie Premiere, the Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback, wearing his No. 15 Raiders jersey, threw a ball to a fan, who failed to secure the catch.  Mendoza could have easily just laughed it off and moved on from it, but he decided to give the fan another shot.

Fortunately for Mendoza, the fan and everyone watching the interaction, the fan was able to complete the catch on the second try.

Here is the video of Mendoza’s moment with the fan.

— Gilberto Manzano (@GManzano24) May 16, 2026

Selected first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Mendoza is expected to elevate Las Vegas, which has won just seven games over the last two seasons.

It is going to take more than just hype for the former Indiana Hoosiers quarterback to help turn things around for the franchise, but at least he seems to be someone who doesn’t make it hard for Raiders supporters to love him.

At the same time, Mendoza and his Raiders wide receivers need to build a better connection on passing plays than what he and the fan had in that lighthearted moment.

Paige Bueckers thinks Steph Curry is elite at one unexpected skill

May 16, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Steph Curry is widely regarded as the greatest shooter the NBA has ever seen, but Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers believes there is another aspect of his game in which the Golden State Warriors guard is elite, if not the best overall.

Bueckers was recently asked by Melissa Triebwasser of The IX Sports about her ability to draw attention from opposing defenses, and the former UConn Huskies guard responded by discussing how Curry significantly influences possessions even without the ball in his hands, specifically his role as a screener.

“Being able to get off of it and being able to be a screener. I mean, if you watch Steph Curry, he’s probably the best screener in the NBA, and he has the best gravity in the NBA, so it’s a sort of mimic after him, and his off-ball movements, his off-ball screen, and his selflessness is something that I’ve actually learned from a lot, Bueckers said.

Bueckers is having a terrific individual start to the 2026 WNBA season, her second in the league. Through three games, she has averaged 20.7 points on 57.1% shooting from the field and 54.5% from beyond the arc.

But the Wings are just 1-2 so far, suggesting Dallas needs more than Bueckers’ high-scoring, efficient offense to win games.

In any case, Bueckers is studying the right NBA player as she tries to become an even more dangerous weapon for the Wings.

Julius Randle accused of questionable move after Timberwolves’ loss

May 16, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Julius Randle drew criticism for his performance in the Western Conference Semifinals against the San Antonio Spurs, and might not have done himself any favors after it ended either.

The Timberwolves conducted their exit interviews with the media on Saturday, one day after their season-ending 139-109 loss to the Spurs at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Every rotation player spoke with the media to wrap up the season except for Randle.

Julius was the only rotation guy not to do an exit interview, that’s all I can say lol

— Andrew Dukowitz (@adukeMN) May 16, 2026

Randle may have an entirely justifiable reason for skipping out on interviews. In light of how he performed against the Spurs, though, it is a bad look.

Victor Wembanyama’s presence largely shut Randle down on the interior during the series. After averaging 21.1 points per game in the regular season, he could only muster 12.8 points per game in the six-game series. With the Timberwolves already shorthanded due to injuries, they needed much more from him than what he gave them.

Randle has two years remaining on his 3-year, $100 million deal. The Timberwolves may want to move him, but that might be easier said than done.

Oli Marmol bought tickets for an entire section of shirtless Cardinals fans

May 16, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The St. Louis Cardinals have been a pleasant surprise to start the MLB season, and their secret weapon appears to be a shirtless club baseball team.

The Cardinals had a surprisingly raucous atmosphere at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Mo. for Friday’s game against the Kansas City Royals. The catalysts appeared to be the Stephen F. Austin club baseball team, who are taking part in the Club Baseball Division II World Series in nearby Alton, Ill. The Cardinals offered them free tickets for Friday’s game, and a large group accepted, showed up, and promptly removed their shirts and started twirling them over their heads.

Their energy quickly spread throughout the crowd, and by the time the Cardinals walked it off in the 11th, everyone had taken notice of them.

After the game, Cardinals manager Oli Marmol praised the group and said he would do whatever it took to bring them back for the rest of the weekend.

“Whoever started that in right field, I’ll do whatever I need to do to make sure they come every game, because that was awesome,” Marmol told reporters. “Not only them, but everybody that showed up today. That was a fun environment.”

Marmol made good on his word. The Cardinals manager bought up the entire section’s worth of tickets. On Saturday, Stephen F. Austin won their baseball game and then arrived in the fourth inning to do it again.

Nike roasted Anthony Edwards after his playoff exit

May 16, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Anthony Edwards caught some heat from Nike after his Minnesota Timberwolves were knocked out of the NBA Playoffs on Friday.

After the Timberwolves’ season-ending loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Nike shared an image on social media that was clearly aimed at Edwards. It mocked Edwards’ “Believe That” slogan by instead stating “Believe This,” accompanied by Victor Wembanyama’s alien logo.

https://t.co/VtDIc0Rfyg pic.twitter.com/Tv0DXPUHuq

— Nike Basketball (@nikebasketball) May 16, 2026

Edwards is signed to Adidas, so Nike is more than happy to take its shots. Wembanyama, obviously, is a Nike athlete, and after how he dominated the series, they barely even need to promote him. The graphic doesn’t feature his name, but it doesn’t need to.

It has been a rough 24 hours for Edwards in more ways than one. Beyond the loss, the way he existed Friday’s game drew widespread criticism. Still, he had a decent enough series, averaging 23.7 points per game over the six-game series. He just did not get a lot of help from his teammates, particularly Julius Randle, who was held to 12.8 points per game.

Edwards is not the first to be trolled by Nike during these playoffs. He at least has some company.

Anthony Richardson explains why not being traded is a ‘blessing in disguise’

May 16, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson asked to be traded this offseason, but did not ultimately get the move he was looking for. Despite that, he does not seem bothered by it.

Richardson spoke to the media at his high school jersey retirement ceremony and said it was a “blessing in disguise” that he was still with the Colts. The team allowed him to show up to voluntary OTAs and get some work in, which he was pleased about.

“The Colts are still giving me a chance to go out there and work, work hard and potentially get on the field,” Richardson said, via Scott Horner and Kevin Brockway of the Indianapolis Star. “Glad to be able to stay in the NFL and put the work in. Just showing up at OTAs, it was a blessing in disguise for me because I just wanted to work and they allowed me to do that so I’m thankful for that.”

Richardson was linked to a few teams during the offseason, but they ultimately went in different directions when it came to finding a backup quarterback. For now, it appears he will remain with the Colts for the foreseeable future, though strictly as Daniel Jones’ backup.

Richardson has played in 17 NFL games but has thrown for just 11 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. The 23-year-old remains immensely talented physically, but is running out of time to put it all together.

Paul Pierce has bizarre reason for thinking LeBron James should retire

May 16, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Paul Pierce thinks LeBron James should retire, but his reasoning behind that stance is a bit strange.

In a recent appearance on Kevin Garnett’s “KG Certified” podcast, Pierce voiced his opinion that James should call it quits now and not play another season. He believes James gets too much criticism and should just walk away from it.

“I think LeBron should retire,” Pierce said. “Just for the simple fact that at (his) age, he still receives the criticism that he still does. The greats weren’t getting this criticism. Nobody was criticizing Kobe when he wasn’t going to the playoffs in his last year. They were just enjoying his moments. Same with Jordan in Washington.”

James does receive his share of criticism, but there is an argument to be made that he is a better player now than Bryant and Jordan were in their final seasons. Plus, if James did decide to announce in advance that he was playing his final year as Bryant did, the way he is talked about might change. James, however, seems indifferent to that.

The biggest difference between James and the players Pierce is comparing him to, however, is the teams they were on. Bryant played his final season on a young rebuilding Lakers team that won just 17 games. James is playing with a team that also features Luka Doncic and has made clear that it expects to contend for championships. When expectations are higher, there will inevitably be more scrutiny.

It is not clear whether James will retire this offseason, but if he does, it probably won’t be for the reasons Pierce thinks he should. It is possible that he leaves the Lakers given how fed up he appears to be with some aspects of the organization.

Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson is being linked to 1 team in free agency

May 16, 2026 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Mitchell Robinson may be able to parlay his team’s second straight Eastern Conference Finals run into a big payday elsewhere.

The Sacramento Kings are seen as a threat to sign the New York Knicks center Robinson in free agency this summer, Stefan Bondy of the New York Post reported this week. Bondy notes that Kings general manager Scott Perry used to hold the same position with the Knicks and that Perry was even responsible for drafting Robinson to New York back in 2018.

Robinson, still only 28, is the Knicks’ longest-tenured player and has been with them for eight seasons now. After struggling badly with injuries in seasons past, Robinson enjoyed a fairly healthy 2025-26 regular season, averaging 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game in a primarily second-unit role.

The seven-footer Robinson has also continued to make an impact during the playoffs. He has put up 5.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in just 14.4 minutes per game and also leads all players this postseason with a field goal percentage of 76.9.

As for the Kings, they were one of the worst teams in the NBA this season at 22-60. Domantas Sabonis, Maxine Raynaud, and impending free agent Precious Achiuwa comprised their frontcourt rotation this year, so Sacramento could really benefit from adding a seasoned true center like Robinson to the mix.

Robinson will be an unrestricted free agent himself this offseason. The Knicks would probably like to keep him (especially given Robinson’s knack for impressive highlights this postseason), but there will definitely be some competition there.

Detroit Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff raised some eyebrows with a remark he made about James Harden’s foul-baiting.

Bickerstaff was an assistant coach for the Rockets from 2011 to 2015 and worked with Harden, and divulged Friday that the Cleveland Cavaliers guard actually practices his foul-baiting. Bickerstaff said Harden would even bait him into fouls when practicing one-on-one.

“He’s got an unbelievable ability to manipulate what the rules are,” Bickerstaff said. “We were together four years in Houston and he and I would play one-on-one, and he would foul-bait me. He would practice those things and he would work on them, even just playing one-on-one versus me. He has a great understanding of the rules and how to manipulate them in his favor.”

J.B. Bickerstaff on James Harden: "He has an unbelievable ability to manipulate what the rules are. We would play 1 on 1 when I coached in Houston and he would foul bait me."

This is freaking hilarious.
Well, he is 'The System' after all.

To be clear, Bickerstaff meant that as praise. He understands better than most what Harden tries to do and accepts that some of his players will inevitably fall victim to it.

Harden has long had a reputation for being one of the best in the league at drawing fouls. Whether that is a skill to be praised and rewarded is a different question, but he has used it to great effect throughout his career. It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that it is an actual skill that he practices along with everything else.

There are still times Harden’s flopping doesn’t work or has unintended consequences. Don’t expect it to change his ways as long as it still works, though.

Justin Jefferson has a clear hope for Vikings’ QB battle

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson really hopes the team’s quarterback battle this year is the last they will have for a while.

Jefferson appeared on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” on Friday and was asked what he was hoping to see from the Vikings’ quarterback battle this season. He said he just wants to see good competition, and ideally, for someone to permanently seize the job.

“I want that, for sure,” Jefferson said, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. “It’s definitely difficult for those types of things to happen. But just like me being with Kirk (Cousins) for those first four years of my career, just building on that connection, building on that relationship, that’s something that’s unbroken. That’s something that you just don’t find anywhere.

“It definitely would be great to have a quarterback — the same quarterback — for these next couple years going down the line. But we already know that’s something that’s very difficult to do in this league.”

If Kyler Murray wins the job, Jefferson will be on his fourth quarterback in as many seasons. Impressively, his numbers have remained solid, though he only barely cracked the 1,000 yard mark last season.

Jefferson has made it clear that he wishes the Vikings had just committed to Sam Darnold instead of moving on and giving the job to JJ McCarthy. He can only hope someone, whether it is Murray or someone else, can perform similarly going forward.
