Richard Jefferson dropped a savage line during Knicks-Cavs Game 2
Richard Jefferson certainly does self-deprecating humor pretty well.
The retired ex-NBA forward Jefferson was on the call Thursday for ESPN during Game 2 between the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the second quarter at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., Jefferson went viral for an absolutely ruthless line … aimed at himself.
Cavs star Donovan Mitchell was called for a defensive foul on a shot attempt by Knicks guard Miles McBride. But Cleveland challenged the play, believing that Mitchell had gotten all-ball on the contest.
Indeed, they were correct as Jefferson and his broadcast partner Mike Breen quickly saw during the on-air replay. “That’s as clean as my bald head,” said Jefferson, much to the amusement of Breen.
Here is the video.

The challenge by the Cavs deemed successful, and they got the ball too due to the imminent possession change at the time of Mitchell’s block. But that was about as good as it got for Cleveland as they went on to lose by a 109-93 final score to fall into an 0-2 hole in the Eastern Conference Finals.
As for the former NBA champion Jefferson, 45, he sported the shaved head look almost all throughout his playing career and continues to rock it now that he is a commentator for ESPN. Meanwhile, that funny line from Jefferson in Game 2 was his best work since the time that he roasted his colleague Kendrick Perkins on the air.
Mets’ Marcus Semien had the worst ABS challenge of the season
Marcus Semien was out there this week doubling down on a 16.
The New York Mets infielder Semien went viral during Thursday’s game against the Washington Nationals for an extremely ill-advised challenge. Semien was batting in the fourth inning at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. with a runner on second base and nobody out.
After a 0-1 pitch by Washington’s Cade Cavalli was called a strike, Semien tapped on his helmet to initiate an automated ball-strike (ABS) system challenge. Unfortunately for Semien though, he ended up getting thoroughly embarrassed by the challenge.
The ABS system quickly confirmed the call, revealing that the pitch was completely engulfed within the strike zone (and by a good amount as well). Here is the video.
Look at this pitch Marcus Semien challenged dude pic.twitter.com/vdMiAtW778
— AT (@BaseballWRLD_) May 21, 2026
Strategically, that was not even an advantageous situation for Semien to use a challenge in either. With no outs, a runner in scoring position, and the Mets leading 2-0 at the time, there was definitely some margin for error to work with there.
The three-time All-Star Semien, a first-year Met, would go on to strike out on the very next pitch. Fortunately for him, New York still held on to beat Washington by a final score of 2-1. But the Mets have also produced some real lowlights during the series, including an awful Little League grand slam they allowed to the Nationals on Tuesday.
Report: Blazers have 3 finalists for their head coach job
The Portland Trail Blazers look to be narrowing down the field.
Portland has three known finalists in their head coaching search, veteran NBA writer Marc Stein reported on Thursday. The three finalists are Minnesota Timberwolves assistant coach Micah Nori, LA Clippers assistant coach Jeff Van Gundy, and current interim coach Tiago Splitter.
The Blazers are looking for a full-time head coach after Chauncey Billups was placed on leave in October amid an arrest over an alleged illegal gambling scheme. Splitter, the 41-year-old former San Antonio Spurs champion, took over from there and led Portland to a 42-39 record and a surprise playoff berth.
Meanwhile, Nori, 52, has been Chris Finch’s lead assistant in Minnesota since 2021 and previously interviewed with a top NBA playoff team. Van Gundy, the 64-year-old former New York Knicks and Houston Rockets head coach, has also himself been a lead assistant under Tyronn Lue with the Clippers since 2024.
The Blazers certainly have some appeal as an up-and-coming team led by 2026 NBA All-Star Deni Avdija and a number of other young talents including Donovan Clingan and Scoot Henderson. Additionally, Portland will be rejoined in 2026-27 by beloved franchise star Damian Lillard, who missed all of this season while recovering from a torn Achilles.
There are, of course, some concerns as well for the Blazers right now given the extreme penny-pinching ways of new owner Tom Dundon. But based on those names on the list, it sounds like Portland will end up with a quality head coach leading the charge for them.
Lakers’ reported trade offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo is revealed
The Los Angeles Lakers are apparently willing to empty (whatever is left of) the vault for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Lakers are pursuing the disgruntled Milwaukee Bucks star Antetokounmpo on the trade market this offseason. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported this week on “The Rich Eisen Show” what the Lakers’ trade offer for Antetokounmpo would look like.
Charania said that the Lakers can offer the No. 25 pick in this year’s NBA Draft as well as two unprotected future first-round picks (in 2031 and 2033). The Lakers would also reportedly offer additional pick swaps as well as the cap flexibility to be able to absorb Antetokounmpo’s contract.
Antetokounmpo, 31, is signed for $58.5 million next season and holds a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28 as well. While draft capital is obviously what the Bucks will be prioritizing in any potential trade of Antetokounmpo, they would probably be able to do much better than what the Lakers can offer here.
The Lakers are poised to compete for many years to come with a core headlined by Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, who are both 27 years old. Thus, those unprotected first-rounders might not exactly be anywhere close to a coveted lottery pick.
Also working against the Lakers is that Antetokounmpo, who has some leverage over where he ends up since he can test free agency as soon as 2027, recently said that he does not care much for Los Angeles. As such, it even seems more feasible for Antetokounmpo to end up with this other marquee franchise instead.
Joey Chestnut sentenced to probation over alleged altercation at a bar
Joey Chestnut is making headlines this week outside of the usual July 4th cycle.
The legendary competitive eater Chestnut has been sentenced to 180 days of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of misdemeanor battery, according to a report this week by Josh Peter of USA Today. As such, Chestnut will be competing in this year’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest while on probation.
Peter notes that Chestnut will not be facing any discipline from Major League Eating, the governing body that sanctions the July 4 contest. Additionally, Chestnut will be allowed to travel outside of his home state of Indiana in order to compete in the Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, N.Y. and told USA Today that he will not have any restrictions during the event.
US Weekly reports that Chestnut allegedly struck a man with an open hand while at an Indiana bar on March 21. The supposed incident reportedly occurred after the man recognized and approached Chestnut before the interaction eventually turned sour.
Chestnut was accused of striking the man on the left side of his face with an open right hand after the two initially exchanged a friendly handshake. When later questioned by law enforcement, Chestnut reportedly said that he was “pretty drunk and didn’t remember” what had happened.
You can read US Weekly’s full report on the situation here.
The 42-year-old Chestnut is regarded as the greatest competitive eater ever and has won 17 total Hot Dog Eating contests in addition to holding 55 world records across 55 different disciplines. He was back competing in the Hot Dog Eating Contest in 2025 (after missing 2024 due to a sponsorship-related ban) and apologized to fans after “only” clearing 70 hot dogs and buns eaten.
Matthew Stafford’s big new contract figure from the Rams is revealed
Matthew Stafford will be getting quite the balloon payment from the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams announced on Thursday that they have agreed to a new contract extension with their veteran quarterback Stafford. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Stafford is getting a one-year extension from the Rams with a base value of $55 million (and an additional $5 million in incentives).
With Stafford already under contract with the Rams for next season, the new deal takes him through the 2027 campaign. In total, Stafford now has two years and up to $105 million remaining on his contract with the Rams.
Stafford, 38, proved last season that he was still very much at the top of his game. He was the NFL MVP in 2025 and also led the league in both passing yards (4,707) and passing touchdowns (46).
The 17-year NFL veteran Stafford had faced some uncertainty about his future after the Rams lost in the NFC Championship Game to the Seattle Seahawks. But Stafford later produced an incredible way of announcing that he was coming back for the 2026 season.
We learned last month that the Rams even believed that Stafford could play beyond 2026. Now that much has effectively been confirmed with Stafford’s new monster contract extension that takes him through the 2027 season.
LeBron James’ future with Lakers may come down to 1 key deadline
LeBron James’ future remains unclear ahead of what would be his 24th season in the NBA.
After the Los Angeles Lakers got swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder, questions swirled about whether or not James would retire or play another year. If he does play in 2026-27, it might not be in LA, although nobody knows just yet.
On Thursday, NBA insider Brian Windhorst revealed that there might be an important deadline for James to decide whether or not he will play for the Lakers: July 1.
“If the Lakers don’t get a clear answer from LeBron by July 1st, they may have to renounce his rights,” Windhorst said. “I would be stunned if that happened, but there is a little bit more of an urgency.”

— NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) May 21, 2026
Besides the Lakers, James has been linked to teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors.
A return to LA is definitely possible, but reports of James taking the veteran’s minimum deal were shut down by NBA insider Jake Fischer.
As far as a timeline, James says he hasn’t thought about it much at this moment.
“I haven’t even really thought about it too much. Obviously, I understand that I’m a free agent and I can control my own destiny — being here with [the Lakers] for the foreseeable future or if it’s going somewhere else,” James said, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
“But I think at some point in June, late June, as July rolls around — free agency starts to get going and as July rolls around and maybe into August, we’ll start to kind of get a feel of what my future may look like,” James added.
The Lakers need to do something this summer, and they might not have time to wait around for a decision by James if it lingers into the free agency frenzy.
The NBa free agency negotiation period begins on June 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ET with the new league year kicking off on July 1, so the Lakers are sure hoping for a decision by then.
Mike Trout responds to growing trade speculation
Superstar outfielder Mike Trout has spent his entire career in the Los Angeles Angels organization ever since being selected 25th overall in the 2009 MLB Draft.
However, with the Angels in the midst of an 11-year playoff drought, questions have swirled about whether or not Trout would ask for a trade.
When asked about the possibility, Trout had a straightforward answer.
“I haven’t even thought about that yet. I’m not gonna talk about the trade stuff,” Trout said.
Would Mike Trout consider asking for a trade?
— HaloTerritory (@HaloTerritory) May 21, 2026
"I haven’t even thought about that yet. I’m not gonna talk about the trade stuff." pic.twitter.com/88PtbGUjYx
Trout had been hampered by injuries over the past couple of seasons, but the beginning of 2026 has been very encouraging for the outfielder, even if the Angels are losing games.
The Angels also put Trout back in center field after he spent a large amount of time previously as the designated hitter due to battling injuries.
Right now, it doesn’t seem that Trout is considering asking for a trade at all, and he has a full no-trade clause, which means he will have to approve any deal that takes place.
If Trout is put on the market, he would likely net a large return for the Angels, even with the injury woes he has dealt with over the past few seasons.
Ed Orgeron’s salary for LSU return has been revealed
Ed Orgeron, who led the LSU Tigers to the 2019 national title, is now back in Baton Rouge as a special assistant on Lane Kiffin’s new-look coaching staff.
Orgeron had an average annual salary of around $9 million as head coach at LSU, and he even earned a whopping $17 million buyout after the two sides agreed to part ways following the 2021 campaign.
Now, his new contract has been revealed, and it is a far cry from what he made before.
“Ed Orgeron will earn $100,000 on an 8-month contract as LSU’s special assistant to defense and recruiting, according to contract details released by LSU on Thursday,” via a report from Zach Barnett of Football Scoop.
LSU announced the move with Orgeron and Kiffin shaking hands in a photo posted on social media, and Coach O’s official title is a special assistant to recruiting and defense.
Orgeron was an assistant coach under Kiffin at USC from 2010 until 2013, and Orgeron then became the interim coach when Kiffin was famously fired on the tarmac in 2013.
In October 2025, Orgeron expressed he would “love” to return as a coach at LSU, and he said a few months before that he was “getting the itch again.”
Now, Kiffin and Orgeron reunite, this time at LSU as the Tigers begin a new chapter of football in Baton Rouge.
Cavs’ potential James Harden extension hinges on 1 key factor
When the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired James Harden at the NBA trade deadline, they envisioned him being in town for at least a few seasons.
However, a potential Harden extension this summer now hinges on one key factor: How well Harden plays in the Eastern Conference Finals.
“How Harden performs the rest of the series could affect his contract this summer. He has a player option for next season worth $42.3 million, but he was acquired with both the Cavs and Harden’s camp interested in an extension, sources told ESPN,” according to ESPN’s insider Dave McMenamin.
The Cavs sent Darius Garland and a second-round pick for Harden at the deadline, and he has been a decent addition so far.
In 26 regular-season games, Harden averaged 20.5 points per game with 7.7 assists. In the postseason, it has been a mixed bag for Harden. He is averaging 19.7 points per game, but he shot just 5-of-16 in Game 1 loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
Harden has also been in the headlines for his poor defensive performance this postseason, and it circulated again after Game 1.
The Knicks won in overtime 115-104 at Madison Square Garden, and Jalen Brunson led the way with 38 points, with Harden as the defender time and time again.
If Harden doesn’t improve during the ECF, it could affect him this summer as he tries to cash in on another major payday.
Jason Kidd posts farewell message after being let go by Mavericks
After five seasons as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, Jason Kidd was fired in a bit of a surprising move.
Kidd took Dallas to two playoff trips and an NBA Finals, but the Mavericks are changing things up this summer.
On Thursday, Kidd posted a lengthy farewell statement to the Mavericks fans and organization.
“The last five years in Dallas have meant more to my family and me than I can fully put into words,” Kidd said. “I want to sincerely thank the Mavericks organization, the players, coaches, staff, front office, ownership, and every employee behind the scenes who put their heart into this team every single day. It has been an honor to work alongside so many incredible people.”
Thank you, Dallas. pic.twitter.com/1EJPqMlv45
— Jason Kidd (@RealJasonKidd) May 21, 2026
Kidd then went on to thank the players and the fans for the past five seasons with the franchise.
Kidd finished with a 205-205 record, but the timing of the move was a bit puzzling.
The Mavericks gave Kidd an extension in October 2025, and star point guard Kyrie Irving missed the entire season with an injury, while big man Anthony Davis was traded to the Washington Wizards at the deadline.
This doesn’t figure to be the end of the road for Kidd’s career as a head coach, and he has already been linked to the Orlando Magic opening.
Kevin McGonigle had unexpected rookie moment before Tigers home opener
Detroit Tigers rookie infielder Kevin McGonigle has wasted no time getting acclimated to the MLB level.
McGonigle made the Opening Day roster after a stellar spring training, and as of May 21, he is hitting .285 with two home runs and 16 RBIs in 48 games.
However, the Tigers’ rookie admitted his first-ever game at Comerica Park almost resulted in him being late because he couldn’t find the parking lot.
“On the day of the home opener, I didn’t know where the parking lot was, so I was doing circles around the stadium,” McGonigle said. “I ended up showing up on time.”

McGonigle made noise in his MLB debut against the San Diego Padres as he went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a pair of RBIs in the Tigers’ 8-2 win.
In the home opener, McGonigle went 1-for-4 with a double in Detroit’s 4-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals, so it’s a good thing he was able to find the parking lot and get there in time.
Kevin McGonigle was the No. 2 prospect in all of baseball and the top prospect in the Tigers organization, and so far, he has looked every bit like a star in the making.
Wild Giannis Antetokounmpo rumor emerges from Chad Johnson
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will be in plenty of rumors the entire summer until something happens.
Whether or not the Bucks trade Antetokounmpo remains to be seen, but the Miami Heat have consistently been linked as a prime landing spot for the 10-time NBA All-Star.
Chad Johnson, the former NFL star wide receiver, is a Miami native, and he just dropped a massive rumor regarding Antetokounmpo and the Heat links.
“As I’ve told y’all, I think during the season, early in the season, that Giannis was already searching for a house down here in Miami,” Johnson said. “I just didn’t want to mess up the conversation. So he will be down here in Miami.”
Miami native Chad Johnson says his sources have told him Giannis Antetokounmpo is already looking for houses down in Miami:

Johnson said they are “house shopping” in Miami, fueling even more speculation that the Heat could make a serious run at Antetokounmpo.
To add even more fuel to the fire, writer Gery Woelfel said the Heat are preparing a package for Antetokounmpo that would send Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and draft picks to the Bucks in a trade.
The Heat are the odds-on favorite to land Antetokounmpo in a trade.

Here is the package some NBA officials told me the Heat is offering the Bucks and my personal opinions on each the individuals involved:
* Tyler Herro — Potent scorer, fringe All-Star. But injury prone: Missed 49…
Whether or not either report has any validity remains to be seen, but this certainly isn’t the first time Antetokounmpo and the Heat have been mentioned in the same breath.
As it stands, the Bucks figure to decide on Antetokounmpo’s future before the NBA Draft begins, so the clock seems to be ticking.
Duke HC Jon Scheyer expected to draw interest for 1 NBA job
Jon Scheyer has a 124-25 record in four seasons since replacing Mike Krzyzewski as the Duke men’s basketball coach.
Scheyer has a Final Four trip with Duke and has them in the national title conversation every year, so leaving Durham. N.C. might not be in the cards. But, as it turns out, Scheyer is reportedly expected to draw interest in the now-open Dallas Mavericks job, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
Spurs assistant Sean Sweeney is expected to draw serious interest from the Mavericks after they parted ways with Jason Kidd, league sources told @ClutchPoints.
— Brett Siegel (@BrettSiegelNBA) May 20, 2026
Dallas is also expected to reach out to Duke HC Jon Scheyer, but he is committed to his current position, sources said.
The Mavericks surprised many people by firing head coach Jason Kidd after five seasons and one NBA Finals trip, and now they are in the market for a new coach.
The Mavericks also hired former Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri, so there are expected to be quite a few changes in Dallas this summer after a disappointing couple of seasons.
As Siegel mentioned, Scheyer is “committed to his current position,” and Duke was so close to a Final Four trip, but ultimately lost to UConn on a last-second three by Braylon Mullins.
Whether or not Scheyer is considering an NBA jump remains to be seen, but the Mavericks appear to at least try to see if he is interested in the job.
NASCAR star Kyle Busch dies at 41
Kyle Busch is, without question, one of the most decorated race car drivers in the history of NASCAR.
Busch was slated to participate in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, but his family released a statement, saying that Busch is hospitalized with a “severe illness.”
Later on Thursday, NASCAR posted a joint statement on behalf of the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and NASCAR saying that Busch had passed away.
“On behalf of the Busch family, everyone at Richard Childress Racing and all of NASCAR, we are devastated to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Kyle Busch,” NASCAR said in a statement. “Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch.”

Notable update emerges on Tarik Skubal
The Detroit Tigers are waiting patiently for Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal to make his return from injury.
Skubal underwent surgery to remove loose bodies from his elbow at the beginning of May. His initial return timeline was unclear, but expected to be somewhere between 2 and 3 months.
On Thursday, an update emerged on the Skubal front as the Tigers pitcher was seen throwing a bullpen session at Comerica Park.

— MLB Network (@MLBNetwork) May 21, 2026
MLB insider Jon Morosi later added that the bullpen session “went well, by all indications,” and revealed that Skubal’s return from injury could be on the “early end.”
Tarik Skubal, who won the American League Cy Young award in 2025, had a 3-2 record with a 2.70 ERA before the surgery. He even threw seven innings with just two runs and seven strikeouts on April 29 against the Atlanta Braves in his latest start.
Skubal’s agent, Scott Boras, insisted the Tigers pitcher would be back sooner than expected after they did a special procedure, now named the “Skubal Scope.”
The reigning AL Cy Young winner even saw his name circulate in some trade rumors, especially since Skubal is expected to hit free agency this offseason. However, that speculation was seemingly shut down by several insiders around the league, and the expectation is that the Tigers will ride it out this season wth the southpaw.
Report: Angels discussed major Shohei Ohtani trade with Rays in 2023
Two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is arguably the greatest baseball player of all time. Ohtani’s MLB career began in 2018 with the Los Angeles Angels before he signed a massive $700 million contract with the Dodgers in 2024.
However, a new report revealed that the Angels almost traded Ohtani to the Tampa Bay Rays.
MLB insider Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic said the Rays and Angels discussed a swap involving Ohtani for star infielder Junior Caminero and shortstop Carson Williams.
“A blockbuster involving those players, carrying mammoth implications for both clubs, was seriously discussed before the 2023 trade deadline, according to people briefed on the conversations,” Rosenthal wrote.
But, Angels owner Arte Moreno decided not to move Ohtani and ride things out in the final year of his contract in Anaheim.
The Dodgers then struck it big by signing Ohtani to a 10-year, $700 million deal, although a ton of the money owed to him was deferred until later.
Still, in hindsight, the Angels could’ve moved Ohtani and landed Caminero. The Rays star is just 22 years old and had 45 home runs with 110 RBIs in 2024 while being named an All-Star.
In 2023, however, Caminero played a total of seven games at the big-league level, but he was still a prized prospect in the Tampa Bay organization.
One can only imagine an alternate universe where the Angels traded Shohei Ohtani to the Rays, although the Japanese star still might’ve ended up with the Dodgers in free agency.
Joe Burrow had a 4-word reaction to the prospect of facing Trey Hendrickson
Joe Burrow and Trey Hendrickson have gone from teammates to rivals in an instant in the offseason, with the latter deciding to take his talents to the Baltimore Ravens after five seasons donning Cincinnati Bengals colors.
Now, Burrow will have to be wary of Hendrickson in almost every snap when facing the Ravens at least twice a year.
However, the three-time Pro Bowler quarterback is not backing down from the challenge, as he looks forward to seeing his former teammate on the other side of the trenches.
“That’ll definitely be fun,” Burrow said, via Shelby Dermer of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Hendrickson blossomed into a star with the Bengals, with whom he has collected all four of his Pro Bowl nods so far in his NFL career. He parted ways with the Bengals following the 2025 season, signing a 4-year, $112 million contract with the Ravens, which also keeps him in the AFC North while adding a twist to the fierce rivalry of Baltimore and Cincinnati.
During his time with the Bengals, Hendrickson recorded 61.0 sacks and 171 combined tackles in 72 games.
Burrow and the Bengals will get a first look at Hendrickson in a different uniform in Week 7 of the 2026 season, when they visit the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
Travis Kelce reveals Taylor Swift’s comical reaction to Jerome Bettis highlights
Travis Kelce finds it hard to shake off what his fiancée, Taylor Swift, told him about a legendary NFL running back.
During a recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end recalled the time when he met former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis at a dinner with Swift. Later on, Kelce showed her highlights of Bettis.
“I showed her a Jerome Bettis highlight tape, and she was like, ‘Why does he look like an offensive lineman running with the football?’ Because he was ‘The Bus,’” Kelce said, as his brother and podcast co-host, Jason Kelce, laughed in the background.
“An offensive lineman who runs the football” is the perfect way to describe Jerome Bettis 😂@reeses pic.twitter.com/WZG1McTF0T
— New Heights (@newheightshow) May 20, 2026
Bettis was indeed a force on the field during his playing days in the league.
A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, Bettis often left those who dared to stop him on the field feeling down bad.
Selected by the Los Angeles Rams 10th overall in the 1993 NFL Draft, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football product Bettis burned rubber for 13,662 rushing yards and 91 rushing touchdowns on 3,479 carries through 192 games for the Rams and the Steelers.
Who knows, Swift might come up with a lyric – or even a song – inspired by Bettis.
Amen and Ausar Thompson receive an offer that could change their careers
The Thompson twins may want to consider an offer from a basketball influencer.
Both Amen Thompson and Ausar Thompson are now in vacation mode after their respective teams fell short of the ultimate goal in the 2026 NBA Playoffs. Amen and the Houston Rockets were bounced out of the first round by the Los Angeles Lakers, while Ausar and the Detroit Pistons were upset in the second round by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But just because they don’t have a game to look forward to this postseason doesn’t mean there’s no work to be done for either of them.
Basketball influencer Lethal Shooter, whose real name is Chris Matthews, is reaching out to Amen and Ausar as he expresses his desire to help improve their shooting.
“Amen and Ausar Thompson all I need is a month! Let’s get it!” Matthews posted on X on Wednesday.
Although they play for different teams, Amen and Thompson have the same glaring issue that Matthews wants to address.
Matthews has become a viral sensation for his ability to make long-range shots, and he also trains pros to help them become accurate outside threats, something Amen and Ausar Thompson are simply not known for. The twins are already athletically gifted and possess strong defensive skill sets, and if they can add at least a respectable outside shot, it should make them more valuable assets for their teams.
Amen is just a career 21.9% shooter from behind the arc in the NBA, while Ausar is worse at just 20.4%.
They are still just 23 years old, so there’s definitely time and room for them to develop their 3-point shooting.
